What plants are best for butterflies in our area?

I have a field full of milkweed, but what else can I plant to attract butterflies?

A butterfly Bush (Buddleia Daviidii) is always sucessful. It thirves in Full Sun, well drained soil, and needs winter protection of the root zone (mulch). They are a perennial and will die to the ground each year. They typically reach 6-8' in height with equal spread. This year Proven Winners has introduced a petite variety claiming 3' maximum height. This would be an excellet addition to a smaller sunny garden. I have not seen this yet in our western NY gardens. I would be careful of the hardiness of this new introduction in our area .
